Về thứ hạng của kinh tế Việt Nam

Hôm nay ghé mắt qua báo chí thấy cái tin WB xếp nền kinh tế VN vào hạng hình như là 42 trên thế giới về quy mô GDP tính theo PPP (sức mua ngang giá). Cái xếp hạng này gây ra một số thắc mắc trong dư luận, vì VN còn được xếp trên cả một số nền kinh tế ở châu Âu.

Tớ thấy có đồng chí Lê Đăng Doanh đăng báo trả lời ở khía cạnh rằng xếp hạng này là dựa trên PPP , là cái thường lớn hơn GDP tính theo giá cố định (đối với nền kinh tế đang phát triển như VN).

Cái này đúng nhưng chưa đủ. VN là nước nghèo nếu xét theo thu nhập đầu người của VN. Nếu so với thế giới thì thuộc dạng thấp, càng không thể so với các nước ở châu Âu. Nhưng điều đó không liên quan gì đến thứ hạng về quy mô kinh tế cả, nếu xét về quy mô GDP (nhất là khi tính theo PPP), đơn giản vì dân số VN gấp hàng (vài) chục lần so với những quốc gia nhỏ bé ở châu Âu với dân số độ vài triệu người (hoặc thấp hơn). Với quy mô dân số lớn như vậy thì cho dù VN vẫn (mãi) được coi là nước nghèo nhưng quy mô GDP thì không thể nhỏ hơn một số nước ở châu Âu, mặc dù họ là nước giàu. Và vì vậy, nền kinh tế VN đương nhiên phải đứng ở vị trí không phải là gần cuối bảng như với xếp hạng nước giầu, nghèo.

Với cùng logic như vậy, không thể coi Trung Quốc là nước giàu được mặc dù Trung Quốc đã ngoi lên đứng ở hàng thứ hai sau Mỹ về quy mô GDP. Có được điều này đơn giản vì dân số Trung Quốc chiếm hơn 1/5 thế giới, mặc dù GDP bình quân chỉ đâu như 3-4000 USD/năm. Với mức thu nhập đầu người như vậy (ở dạng trung bình thấp của thế giới) thì TQ còn phải chạy đua dài dài mới trở thành nước giàu theo đúng nghĩa là công dân phải có thu nhập cao được.

  1. Cái này bác nói hoàn toàn chính xác (nó thuộc nguyên tắc rồi). Cho dù VN hay Trung Quốc xếp thứ hạng kinh tế nào đi nữa nhưng thực chất đời sống người dân như thế nào mới là điều quan trọng! Cứ như VN hay Tàu (Trung Quốc) đời sống người dân vẫn thấp, trình độ văn hóa, xã hội chưa cao,... thì có nhiều năm nữa cũng chẳng theo nổi tụi phương tây đâu. Lại còn cái vụ định hướng chính trị theo chủ nghĩa xã hội nữa chứ, vậy thì còn mù tịt mới đuổi kịp tụi tây. Hiện tại, chẳng qua là hù dọa, tung hỏa mù lẫn nhau thôi, chứ thực chất vẫn chưa có thì đảm bảo đời sống người dân cải thiện cả.

  2. Tớ tưởng vấn đề sẽ đơn giản, chỉ dừng lại ở mức hiểu nhầm/suy diễn quá xa trong một số dân thường. Nhưng hôm nay đọc báo thấy cả mấy bố TS cũng lên mặt báo phán nọ phán kia mà thấy "bức xúc" không chịu nổi. Hóa ra đến cái giới gọi là tinh hoa cũng chẳng biết mô tê gì, lại làm tội tớ phải viết thêm cái entry nữa phang họ. Mất toi nửa tiếng đồng hồ và thêm chút lên máu.
